Here are some highlights of the little road trip to Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington:
Our first day there, we spent our day walking through Picton (really only the Main St. there) - looking through the little stores and restaurants. We had an excellent lunch at the Painted Peppercorn restaurant where we had Elk burgers! So different and yummy. We browsed around in a "second hand" store, only to realize stuff there isn't really "second hand pricing"! My friend tried on a beautiful dress (with meticulous detailing), priced at $280! Least to say, we walked away empty handed and just browsing! My favorite part of the trip is this next part, in the evening, we drove over to Bloomfield Bicycles (http://www.bloomfieldbicycle.ca/) where we joined to a local bicycle club. They fitted us with some bikes (awesome ones!) to ride for the evening and along we went with the rest of the group. We biked around the roads all the way from Bloomfield to Sandbanks Beach and back (a 2 hour bike ride in total!). It was absolutely stunning the views - almost picturesque and movie like biking through roads with fields, trees and farms during sunset! We finished the evening off at the B&B with some well deserved calories!
Second day- we woke up to the most wonderful breakfast served at the B&B. We had delicious fruits (exquisitely arranged) to start, then had portebello mushroom omelette with ham on the side and fried potato. So very yummy. As soon as our stomach were filled and our taste buds fully satisfied, we headed off to our first destination, a lavender farm! It was quite beautiful, the farm had acres of lavender growing. Although, it was not fully bloomed and ready to harvest, I can imagine when it does, to be even more purple and all so lovely smelling! After the farm, we wondered about through the countryside to visit different wineries and try a few locally produced wines in the county! We succeeded in finding some great wines that we brought home. In the late afternoon, we decided to head back into town to Wellington, where we shared some fresh baked goods at the Tall Poppy Cafe, and headed to a local pottery studio and met the local artists. After browsing through Wellington, we went back to Picton, where we discovered that as small towns on off-season, most things close after 6! (Where do all the people go?) We decided to though for dinner head over to Sandbanks and have dinner there. Again, we finished the evening wondering about close to the lake and the sunset, and admiring God's beautiful creation!
And after successfully gone to all those places, we spent our time underneath the sun and water at the Sandbanks beach. We had a little picnic (leftovers and wine) and toasted to all the things we are celebrating and thankful for! It was so great to just relax and enjoy the time with my two very good friends! As all things in life, our time together at Sandbanks was short, but the memories will always be remembered! We vowed to hopefully do another trip in five years time - wherever we are in life!

Aw, cuuuuuuuuute. That was a fun read -- almost like reliving the week again =) If there was a place in HK to bike through country lanes, I would be there in a second. I noticed that you, um... "accidentally" left out some parts of the week -- oysters, for example? And running away from the secondhand store in super awkward fashion, haha.
Haha yes - that's for the selected few to know about (mainly you, me and Jane)! Ah and the biking, oh how I loved doing that! Thinking about making a goal to bike more (maybe kijji a used bike?) and trying to make those wonderful pancakes!!
I actually check the B&B`s website for a recipe of those lemon ricotta pancakes and they weren`t on there! :(
I saw the recipe the other day on the Canadian B&Bs website under their B&B name. If you can't find it, I can send it to you!! They were SO very good!
