"Oh praise Him, praise Him. Praise Jesus"

God works in amazing ways.

I recently took care of a gentleman, who was very ill. He was for the most part awake, but not always coherent and at times, confused. I remember he was very fearful that morning, and was speaking out loud to God his thoughts.

As I got him ready for the morning, we got talking. I told him that I too believe in God, and I am also a Christian. He was grateful to hear this, and he requested that I pray for him. After he finished breakfast, I prayed a simple prayer of healing over him. After I did, he began to pray also- asking God for strength, for Him to reveal Himself to his family, and then he was praising Jesus. I remember opening my eyes briefly, and seeing a man of conviction responding to Jesus' love by meditation, and admiration. It was a few beautiful moments as our hearts looked to God.

The morning quickly passed with tasks to accomplish and people to be looked after. I remember chatting with his family in the afternoon, updating about how things were looking for him clinically. I was cautious in my optimism, but at the same time, informed them about the possibility of needing more treatments for his illness. They were accepting of this news.

As I left my shift that evening, the gentleman was more himself - any incoherent thoughts or confusion he had was completely gone. Then, following few days, I learned that he did not required any further treatments.

Incredible. God is the ultimate great Physician! He brought healing to this gentleman's body. But moreover, He was true peace and love for this gentleman's soul.

I am so touched at how God is working in the lives of patients and families that I meet. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit would continue to open my eyes to how God loves his people and meets them at their most needed time, and that I too would receive him with joy.

Ephesians 4: 32- 5:2
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly beloved children, and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
