First place we went was Balboa Park - a lovely park full of museums, of a San Diego zoo, of old gorgeous buildings and lots of green space! We just strolled our way around, checking out some free admission museums, admiring some amazing art work at the Spanish Art Centre, and being fascinated at the buildings.
Second Place - we got to go was Old Town San Diego! And this was certainly interesting bringing us back to origins of the city and of California. We also had fantastic Mexican nearby.
Third- we wanted to catch the sunset, and boy we did. We went to Ocean Beach and it was a beautiful. I am pretty sure each of us has about a million pictures of the sunset (especially M.), but here are a few.
This was the bulletin board outside of the cafe on the boardwalk of the beach. I love that on this one picture quoted the Bible verse from Jeremiah 29:11. It also gave some information to the history of the pier... built in 1960s, it is the longest pier on the West Coast!
Lastly, we hit up downtown San Diego after the sunset for some dinner. We walked around the still bustling hip area of the downtown and settled to have some food at the Spaghetti Factory!
That's a wrap for San Diego (and California)! All in all a great trip! On the last day of our trip, we had the privilege (S. and I) to sent M. off to Australia! We miss you!
Now, where to for my next adventure? Suggestions?
