Road tripping!

After a great visit in San Fran, we rented a car and drove down along the coast to LA. I love road trips and this part of the trip was definitely a favorite!

Our first stop were outlet stores. My friend S. really wanted to get a purse, so we stopped by a Fossil outlet. The store right beside Fossil was a kitchen collection store and if you know me, I absolutely love kitchen stuff, so while she went to Fossil, I went into the kitchen store. My other friend M., was timing us, as she knew we both could spend all day at outlet stores and we had a tight schedule for the day! Anyhow, at the end of the 30mins, I came out of the store with a hand blender (for soups, etc.) and S. got two purses from fossils. And then we grabbed a quick lunch at In and Out!

Second stop: Bixby bridge. A pretty little bridge along the magnificent coast. :D
(Funny detail: we didn't have the "exact location" of the bridge, so we actually passed a couple of bridges before thinking it was the Bixby Bridge, turns out more people stop here.)

Third Stop: Carmel River State Beach (our first beach in California)!

Fourth Stop: The Elephant Seals.

Along a particular part of the coast, we saw literally hundreds of elephant seals. We looked out the window, wondering what at first were all those things by the water, but soon realized they were seals. So we stopped to take a look. Lets just say February is mating season for them (hence that is why they are clumped together!)

Fifth Stop: Madonna Inn

We were recommended by S's colleague to make a pit stop here and boy was it different! Haha the Madonna Inn is what I can best describe as a fairy tale land - with elaborate dining rooms and where the waiters and waitresses dressed as swiss boys and swiss girls. We had dinner there and lets just say we were fascinated and slightly overwhelmed at the place, but overall a great experience!

And after this stop, we drove all the way to LA! Next post: finish up LA and San Diego!

P.S Here is my all-time and BEST BURGER EVER pic (from San Francisco the restaurant Roam)! It was called French and Fries- which was a beef burger with fries, avocado, watercress, caramelized onions, honey mustard and lettuce. It was so good.
