Bolivia Medical Missions

Update on Life

I am currently working as an RN at the hospital. Alongside my colleagues (nurses, doctors, and other members of the multidisciplinary team), we look after critically ill patients with cardiac conditions. I started here about two and half years ago, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience working with the patients and families. A definite learning curve for me at the beginning, but I have since grown in my skills and knowledge to care for the patients. With that being said, my learning continues each day that I work with the different people I meet. Most recently, I have started to care for my patients more holistically, focusing on more than their physical, mental, and emotional needs but also their spiritual needs. For instance, keeping the patients and families I work with in my prayers and sharing the love of Christ through words or actions. It is a start for me and I am certain that God is continuing to guide and grow me as I work as a nurse at the bedside.

Aside from work, this past year, I have decided to take a break from leading Sunday School. It has been an amazing four years serving in the ministry; getting to know the children and the parents, growing with them in learning God's Word. I am looking forward to where God leads me to serve Him and others next.

News!

I would like to share the exciting news that at the end of April, I and others from my church will be going to Bolivia for a medical mission trip. We will be heading to Guayaramerin (Northern Brazilian border), and making our way down to the Bella Vista (South East) through the Mamore River, where we will be spending about 9 days travelling on a boat and stopping in remote villages. We are looking to meet the health needs of the people from these communities, by providing basic medical care. Additionally, our hope is that by doing so, we may also share the gospel with them, and allow them opportunities to hear and know the Bible. Our time in Bolivia will be lead by a local missionary couple, and we will be working with other doctors and nurses there.

This opportunity to Bolivia is one that is close to my heart. I am certain that God has led me into the nursing profession to serve Him and others as well, whether here at home or oversee. I would like to invite you to partner with me in this mission trip through finances and prayers. If you would like to support me, please contact me by phone or email.

I would like to specially ask you to pray about the following items:
- that we would have a heart to serve God and those we meet in Bolivia
-that we would be united as a team
-protection and safety as we travel
-that we would have opportunities to share with those we meet the gospel and
positively impact their lives for Christ
- that we would ourselves continue to grow in Christ relying on Him in each and
every situation

Thank you for your time, and in advance, thank you for your consideration
in supporting me financially and in your prayers.

Sincerely,

Sandra
